Come On Down Folks!

Arcade finds Danny George Wilson returning to Hamish Benjamin’s studio in East Sussex – five years on from his startling, post-lockdown album Another Place – to construct its sequel. With Lewes-based Benjamin and right-hand man Henry Garratt again given free rein, Arcade presents a fresh collection of sonically inventive, deeply romantic songs with atmosphere taking primacy over meaning, and narrative dissolving.

First single ‘Distant Seasons’ set the scene for the new album, a song about an imagined return, about losing people, time and place, with a wonderfully melancholic string arrangement. Second single ‘Arcade’ is the album’s title track, taking in youth culture and nostalgia, doffing a cap to influential book ‘Subway Art’, Dinosaur Jr’s ‘Freak Scene’, Sonic Youth’s ‘Teenage Riot’ and Sutton’s long demolished Arcade.

The new album is due 20 March 2026 on the Loose label. Another Place featured contributions from Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Gerard Love (Teenage Fanclub) and Emma Swift and attracted a raft of praise on its release in 2021:

“an idiosyncratic gem…one of Wilson’s finest” – ★★★★ Mojo

“Wilson’s weather-beaten voice is an atmospheric conduit for tales of troubled romance and hopes for happier times ahead” – Uncut

“mightily impressive” – ★★★★ Daily Express

Music’s Not Dead are delighted to welcome Majke Voss, formerly Broken Twin, to the De La Warr Pavilion’s First floor Café on February 10 2026.

Majke Voss is a composer, singer and songwriter formerly known as Broken Twin. Following her critically acclaimed debut album May, her forthcoming album is written and produced by herself, featuring an array of prominent musicians from the Copenhagen music scene such as Johan Wieth (Iceage) and Nils Gröndahl (Under Byen).

Built from piano, bass, beats and distorted strings and centred around her soulful voice, the coming album – this time set to be released in her own name – is a development and expansion of her distinct songwriting and minimalistic, cinematic sound, widely praised in publications such as Rolling Stone, Vogue,

The Guardian and The Sunday Times. NPR called it a “Breathtaking debut”, while NME dubbed her “the most arrestingly beautiful songwriter we’ve heard in aeons”.

National Album Day returns on Saturday 18th October 2025 with this year’s theme celebrating Rock, following previous editions that, among other themes, have focused on the albums of the 90s, Women in Music, Debut Albums and, just last year, Great British Groups.

This radical East London duo are known for their intense live shows exploring the raw holler of folk, synths, spoken word and intricate rustic dobro guitar. Full-force reworkings of centuries-old work-songs speak to contemporary issues of class, using multi-layered sonic palettes to deeply reflect hidden histories, told with a razor-sharp authenticity. Stick In The Wheel have created their own London vernacular, a contemporary roots music that celebrates the collective stories and traditions of the city – conjuring the past to point toward the future.

Praise for Stick In The Wheel:

“Stick In The Wheel grab hold of folk music with both hands, dragging it through the 21st century city with no fear they might somehow break it.” THE QUIETUS

“The most important band in the current British folk scene” (10-page feature) ELE-KING MAGAZINE, JAPAN

“Powerful – and deeply relatable” PITCHFORK

“Live, Stick In The Wheel are a diamond-hard machine” SONGLINES

“A remarkable voyage through a thousand years of London culture” UNCUT MAGAZINE 9/10

“That voice is just unmistakable – one of the hardest working bands on the folk circuit” BBC LATE JUNCTION

Hailing from the sleepy seaside town of Eastbourne on England’s Sussex coast, The Equatorial Group is formed of five friends from various and differing musical backgrounds. By navigating and taming this musical tug-of-war, they have created four records, in which some listeners hear the shadows of Neil Young or the colours of Fleetwood Mac.

Come and celebrate the release of The Equatorial Group’s new album ‘SUNSEEKER’ with a very special live performance on Friday 26th September at The De La Warr Pavilion. You’ll be able to get your hands on the new album released on Music’s Not Dead Records for the first time on Vinyl and CD.
